McLaren Automotive has announced the appointment of Jolyon Nash as executive director, global sales and marketing and member of the board of management. Nash joins the company from 1 July 2014 and will report to McLaren Automotive CEO, Mike Flewitt.
For the past five years Jolyon has been director, sales and marketing for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and has also held senior sales and marketing roles at BMW and the Volkswagen Group, as well as one of the largest vehicle importers in South Africa.
Commenting on the appointment, Flewitt said: "Jolyon brings a wealth of experience in sales and marketing developed most recently at another iconic British luxury automotive brand. He joins McLaren at an exciting time of sales growth. Key objectives will include meeting our sales goals, the advancement of our product strategy and the continued expansion of our global retailer network."
Nash replied: "What McLaren Automotive has achieved over the last three years is impressive and I am very pleased to be joining such a dynamic and innovative company. With outstanding cars such as the McLaren P1™ and 650S, plus an exciting product plan, I look forward to being part of this next important phase of business growth."
Nash holds various professional qualifications from studying in London, Harvard and the University of Michigan. Age 53, he enjoys trail running, driving and classic cars.
Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced Nash's replacement with the appointment of Fintan Knight as director of sales and marketing.
Knight began his career in the automotive industry with BMW Australia and joins Rolls-Royce Motor Cars after more than 20 years working for premium and luxury automotive brands in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including Automobili Lamborghini, Audi and Infiniti.
During his 15 years with Audi AG, he served in a number of senior executive roles including managing director of Audi Ireland and general manager, Audi Asia and Pacific, where he gained experience in marketing, network development and aftersales management in a number of important Asia Pacific markets such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, Korea and Taiwan. Knight has also worked extensively in automotive retail markets in Europe and South Africa.
Knight, a British national, was born in Ireland and brought up in Australia. He holds an honours degree in economics from University of Western Australia. He speaks English and German.
