YoutravelDamien Retureau, director of international sales, Youtravel.com
The need for a larger operating base results from the company’s redeployment of many of its departments to the British capital.
Notably the international sales team has relocated to London and will be working alongside UK sales, which will continue to work with the UK travel trade.
The close collaboration of international and UK sales is hoped to cultivate synergies and drive its renewed B2B focus. As part of the redeployment Youtravel.com is streamlining its brand message, reintroducing the Youtravel brand name on all aspects of the business.
Youtravel.com’s push for further international sales expansion coincides with the appointment of Damien Retureau as director of international sales. Retureau brings to YouTravel more than 13 years of online travel experience. He has built an international career while working for leading OTAs such as Orbitz and lastminute.com and most recently Kelkoo.com, the leading European price comparison site, where he was sales and product EMEA director. He joins Youtravel.com with a varied experience of contracting, marketing, new product launches as well as signing and implementing multi-million dollar partnerships. Group CEO, Ioannis Kent remains actively involved in sales strategy and implementation, leading the sales team together with Retureau and head of UK sales, Hannah Wheeler.
As part of the organisational changes Neil Bowen, who recently assumed the role of chief operating officer of Youtravel.com will also undertake the role of managing director of the Athens office. Bowen from his new location in Athens will further expand his role in the group’s UK sister company, Aquis Hotels and Resorts.
Kent commented: “This new redeployment will enable us to target even more international markets as we continually expand the network of Youtravel.com. We remain committed to the UK trade and continue to offer our trade customers excellent prices and availability across a unique selection of resort hotels throughout the Mediterranean and beyond with more product being added to our range daily. My team and I look forward to a strong year ahead with our partners.”
He concluded: “The redevelopment is aligned with our sales strategy and our focus is to strengthen the existing business and further develop new markets. We will continue to fine-tune our strategy as necessary in order to meet today’s and tomorrow’s business challenges.”
