Suffolk-based self-adhesive labelling equipment specialist, HERMA UK Limited, is to put training at the heart of a five year plan to double in size. The target follows the company’s success in achieving 50 per cent growth over the past three years.
HERMA has enjoyed significant growth since it started working with MLP training three years ago, incorporating both sales and management training into a personnel development strategy as part of the company’s growth plans.
Rob Jenkinson, divisional director at HERMA, explains: “Our German parent company has been established since 1906 and we have been incorporated in the UK since 1991.
“We brought MLP Training in at the start of our growth plan in 2011 and have now increased to a team of 88 people across two sites.
“The training has been results-oriented, reinforcing the skills in the team and preparing the business for the period of dynamic change and continued growth ahead.”
MLP Training has delivered sales training across HERMA’s two divisions in Haverhill, where the company manufactures self-adhesive labelling machines, and Newbury, where it operates as a supplier of self-adhesive labelling materials.
All 36 employees based at HERMA UK’s Haverhill headquarters have also undergone goal setting and time management training from MLP and this programme is also being rolled out at the Newbury site. Meanwhile, operations managers at Haverhill have also completed an MLP ‘Managing Change’ course and the senior leadership team has also completed a ‘Making Leadership Matter’ course.
Comments Mike Le Put, managing director of MLP Training: “It is great to see a company like HERMA investing in training as part of an expansion strategy.
“Training not only develops skills, it also increases confidence and motivation within a team which are important elements in achieving business growth. We wish the company every success in meeting its objectives over the next five years.”
Rob adds: “Our people are the value in our business so we recognise the need to invest in the team as the foundation on which we’ll build our future success.”
