Zars Media has announced the second Women In Sales Awards are open for nominations.
Last year the awards attracted more than 285 senior executives from some of the world's leading organisations including Google, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Oracle, GE, IBM, Vodafone, ITV, Shredit, Npower, Thomson Reuters, PepsiCo and Bacardi.
Twenty-five senior industry judges will preside over this year's event with six new categories added: Travel & Leisure, Pharma,Utilities, Retail, Consumer and Best Newcomer. The first entry received will win a brand new Kindle.
Sales has now been recognised as a major contributor to accessing C-suite positions. The Women in Sales Awards was created to bring a greater awareness of the need for gender diversity in sales and in executive sales leadership teams, as well as help grow the pipeline of female sales talent and to pave the way for more women to get on boards.
As part of achieving this aim, the winners are mentored by senior executives for a year. Some of the mentors confirmed for 2014 are: Dr. Jane Griffiths, group chairman, Janssen EMEA, Johnson & Johnson; Mary Whenman, MD corporate, financial and public affairs, Weber Shandwick; and Heather Jackson CEO, An Inspirational Journey.
Also this year the Winner of Best Woman Sales Director award (only) will be offered a place on the Cranfield University's Sales Leader Forum.
