Whether you’re new to public speaking or looking for ways to dynamically improve your presentation or sales pitch, then having the winning edge will enable you to give powerful and persuasive presentations every time. There's a formula for success but here are our first steps to follow to prepare your presentation…
Set your objectives – ask yourself the following 4 questions
- Why do you need to deliver a presentation?
- What is the purpose of people attending your presentation?
- What do you want your audience to learn/find out or understand by the end of your presentation?
- Do you want your audience to take specific action following the presentation?
Now define your audience
(Managers, directors, board members, team members, Buyers, delegates...)
When you know if have a good understanding of what and to whom you are presenting, you can now start developing your content to meet your objectives.
Developing your content
Prior to writing your presentation script, you will need to have a basic outline of your ideas, main points and design of the presentation.
Remember to plan the beginning, middle and end!
