Opia, an international risk-managed sales promotions consultancy, which enables businesses to provide unique and effective promotions, has announced two new appointments to its EMEA operations: Matthew Wallis and Anthony Everest.
Wallis’s new role as Sales Director for Northern Europe will see him work to strengthen the management team and further develop Opia’s well-established sales reach in Northern Europe. This will include developing the company’s overall strategy in the region, reviewing its methods of working with current clients and bringing the company’s leading and unique sales propositions to new areas.
Wallis joins Opia from Taiwan-based electronics company MiTAC, where he spent the past ten years of his career as EMEA Sales Director, initially as part of its B2C operations before moving on to its B2B operations. During his time with MiTAC, Wallis developed the company’s sales strategy, go-to-market plans, product development, distribution channels and reseller channels. During his final years at MiTAC, its business grew by approximately 300 per cent.
“Throughout my career I’ve worked for both start-ups and multinational companies, developing strategies across Europe and leading from the front, taking a hands-on approach to management,” Wallis said. “I’m excited to be continuing that approach at Opia.”
Everest’s role as Business Development Director will see him determine new opportunities for Opia to bring its powerful propositions into new areas.
Everest joins Opia from Sony, where he managed its consumer electronics business across multiple channels and regions in order to create new opportunities in emerging areas such as wearables. Prior to this he worked for Corel, Orion Media Marketing and Despec Supplies.
“What attracted me to Opia is that the business is very unique and very challenging,” Everest said. “Opia has provided tremendous opportunities for large organisations I have worked with in the past that have allowed them to be nimble and flexible in the way they run their promotions. I was quite excited to get involved in that.”
