Wi-Fi network iPass has announced a partnership with CubeFree, a new social productivity tool from Citrix, that could help salespeople on-the-road find reliable places to work and connect with others outside the office.
iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), the world’s largest commercial Wi-Fi network, has today announced a partnership with CubeFree, a new social productivity tool from Citrix that helps mobile workers find reliable places to work and connect with others outside the office. By partnering with iPass, Citrix CubeFree will be able to offer its users access to over 19 million Wi-Fi hotspots around the world in locations such as cafes and restaurants, airports and business centers.
Citrix CubeFree is a mobile application that helps thousands of global mobile workers locate public workplaces. It leverages Foursquare’s and iPass’ location databases to index hundreds of thousands of cafes, libraries and co-working spaces, gathering insights on which are suitable working environments. Users can access information and reviews on each location, including details on Wi-Fi availability, noise levels, power outlet numbers and parking. CubeFree can also be used as a tool to network with colleagues or meet like-minded mobile workers.
“We are delighted to be using Citrix technology. This is an innovative example of how a social application is utilizing the iPass global Wi-Fi footprint to deliver greater value to its community of users” said Patricia Hume, Chief Commercial Officer at iPass. “CubeFree is a great application for mobile workers, giving them all the information they need in one place. Through our partnership, we can now bring the power of the iPass network to thousands of CubeFree users, giving them the ability to work without connectivity restrictions.”
CubeFree is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. CubeFree users will be able to purchase iPass’ full service directly through the application at a preferential discount.
