The National Sales Conference 2015 will see pop star and Live Aid/Band Aid entrepreneur Midge Ure take to the stage as a keynote speaker.
Other personalities slated to speak at the October event include journalist Sean Brickell (who will host); Fru Hazlitt MD of Commercial, Online and Interactive at ITV; Richard Newman an award-winning expert in Communication, Influence and Leadership; Sean McPheat of the Ultimate Sales Audit; Fiona Challis, 2014 winner of the Global Brandon Hall Excellence Award; and John McCarthy CBE, who was held at the hands of terrorist kidnappers in the Lebanon.
The 2014 conference attracted more than 500 sales leaders and 44 exhibitors from around the UK.
Author Simon Hazeldine ran a session on ‘How to tip the power balance in your favour’, in which he shared tips on how to be a better negotiator. He said that sales professionals tend to be poor negotiators.
“Most sales people are not as good at negotiating skills as they should be. Selling is their comfort zone, negotiating is their discomfort zone but for buyers their comfort zone is negotiation so they have an unfair advantage over the sales person,” Hazeldine said.
In the exhibition hall, delegates networked with suppliers who demonstrated the latest tools and services to help sales teams improve their performance.
